New building. Lots of laptops, wifi, outlets for laptops, outlets and adopters for some cell phones. Dvds to rent, meeting rooms with regularly scheduled events ( e.g. programming, orgami, etc. For 8+ and teens)
NICOLAS RODRIGUEZ- BE VERY CAREFUL OF THIS BEING, Surprisingly He is a manager!! (It would behoove The City of Aventura to remove him from the position as library manager). As little as he appears he has seriously big problem with integrity. That’s a bit concerning especially the fact he works around CHILDREN. He is a very sadistically quick tempered person and sadly loves to exasperate those who lack a defensive mentality. Rodriguez has no ethical standard and most importantly disregards integrity.-He is a threat and Danger to those unaware of his unethical practices.
Glad they finally rebuilt this library after Wilma destroyed the original one back in 2005. It's very nice. Lots of space to work. Staff is very friendly and helpful. However, there are only 2 handicapped parking spaces, and both were taken when I was there. I saw several spaces near the front that were reserved for low emissions/fuel efficient vehicles, and all those spaces were empty. It's not necessary to have parking spaces specifically for those vehicles, but it is necessary for people with disabilities to be able to park close to the building. I noticed a lot of elderly people coming in to the library. It would serve the community better if these low emissions/fuel efficient vehicle spaces were converted to handicapped spaces.
Sterling Osborne is a very disrespectful employee. He does NOT know how to talk to people and is very racist. I watch him talk to a patron as if she was literate and rendered poor customer service. I would not recommend him for help and or assistance at the library.
A beautifully designed space surrounded by a peaceful verdant vista of foliage swaying in the wind...better than any screensaver.
